Previously, I told you how did I fix my friend’s Sole treadmill incline. In this post, you will learn to fix a non-working display of your Sole F80 treadmill. This issue is very common and my friend also faced it.

So, I helped her fix the machine. I note down the troubleshooting steps in my diary. Therefore, I remain ready to help my followers.

Tip#1. Provide Adequate Power

One immediate reason is the poor power supply to your machine. So, check the power cord and plug it firmly into the wall outlet.

Moreover, test the electrical outlet whether it has current or not. Connect your unit to a different power source. Finally, check if the power indicator on F80 is lit or not.

Tip#2. Secure Connections

The connections to your display should be secured. Check all the wires at the back of the display. Plug and connect everything firmly. Further, check the circuit board.

Remove the cover and observe the light indicator. It should be blinking. Otherwise, the circuit board is defective.

Tip#3. Have You Installed Safety Key?

Do you know, your treadmill does not work without the safety key? It is used to quickly stop the machine in emergency situations.

Hence, your treadmill will not work if the key is not installed. Now, check the key. Remove it from your machine and then reinsert it properly.

Tip#4. Power Cycle Your Sole F80

A quick power cycle is an immediate solution to many problems. Because the appliances build up static electricity. This interferes with the normal functioning of the system.

Surely, it will also work for your machine. Here is how to reset your treadmill;

  1. Unplug your F80 from the power outlet and turn OFF the power switch.
  2. Leave it OFF for 1-5 minutes.
  3. Now, plug the power cord back into the outlet.
  4. Turn ON the power button.
  5. Note: You can repeat the reset process two or more times. Also, check by increasing the duration.

Tip#5. Is Your Circuit Overloaded?

Sometimes, the treadmill stops working due to external factors. For example, an overloaded circuit is a culprit.

It happens when you connect your machine to a shared circuit that is already connected to a number of heavy appliances. More than one heavy device cannot work properly on the same circuit.

So, you have to create a dedicated circuit and outlet for your treadmill. Do not plug other devices along with your unit. Moreover, never use extension cords to connect your treadmill to the wall outlet.

Tip#6. Test Voltage

If all the connections are secured, the problem may be in the voltage supply. Take a Multimeter and check the voltage input and output.

Test the voltage of the motor, power supply outlet, console, and controller. If the console is getting 12V, it has some fault. However, if it shows zero reading, the controller is bad. You have to repair these parts.

Tip#7. Perform a Factory Reset

If the power cycle did not help, perform a reset on your machine. It is a promising remedy to solve such issues. Here is how you reset a Sole F80;

  1. Turn ON your treadmill and connect it to a power source.
  2. Now, remove its safety key.
  3. Press and hold the “Start” and “Speed Up” buttons at the same time.
  4. Reinsert the safety key while still holding down these buttons.
  5. Release both buttons when the display shows “Factory settings”.
  6. Press the “Enter” button at this moment.
  7. Next, hit the “Start” button. The calibration process will initiate.
  8. Please avoid standing on the belt or deck while the reset is going on. Once the process is completed, you can check the display.

Tip#8. Replace the Console

Have you checked everything from the wires to the voltage? Have you restarted and reset your treadmill? But, still, your Sole F80 treadmill display not working?

This indicates the console is bad. It is defective and should be replaced. If your machine is too old, the console has more chance of failure.

So, contact Sole and explain your problem. Be sure to take help from a technician for a proper diagnosis.
